Footpath and Stairway Upgrade Construction Works

State Civil was engaged by North Sydney Council for the Footpath and Stairway Construction Works.

The nominated State Civil Work crew carried out a site specific risk assessment at the start of the project in order to understand and mitigate any potential issues before they escalated. After State Civil had carried out the site risk assessment and discovered no issues, we began mobilization of the site by setting up the traffic control equipment and signage.

The Scope of the work included:

• Demolition of existing footpath and
• Construction of new footpath and kerbs
• Adjusting of lid
• Minor works for stormwater

Innovations

As the project was located in the CBD, extensive risk assessment were undertaken prior to mobilizing on- site revealing traffic ability issues which when were then resolved prior to starting works.

Works for this project will be undertaken in stages therefore all the works can be completed sufficiently within the planned time frame.

Issues and Strategies

Works for this project will be undertaken in stages to minimize the effect of construction works on the public transportation.

Additional traffic control measures were provided at NO additional cost.
